For over 20 years I have been commitment to promoting equity, effective systems change and social impact. Initially, I focused my work in the field of public policy research and advocacy. Now, it extends into philanthropy. I am driven by EP Strategies' vision and core values:
EP Strategies Vision
Collaboratively and inclusively create a world where equitable practices, policies, and grantmaking help level the playing field for systemically excluded groups.
EP Strategies Core Values
Effective and meaningful systems change only happens when we center people most directly impacted and harmed by programs, policies, and systems. “Experts” are both those with direct lived experience in the issue area as well as technical experts (e.g., providers, administrators, and policy content professionals).
We will all thrive when we achieve inclusion, equity, and justice. My frame grounds in the root causes of society’s problems. I lead with an anti-racist lens and take an intersectional approach from there.
Background:
For 15 years, I lobbied on Beacon Hill in Massachusetts, served in executive leadership roles at nonprofits, grew advocacy campaigns, and engaged grassroots bases. I saw first hand how to authentically engage folks on the ground for powerful action. I also furthered diversity, inclusion and race equity efforts within nonprofits and governmental agencies and learned how to infuse strategies for equity into public policy advocacy trainings, program evaluation, coalition building, and more.
I have since brought my research and evaluation, program design and implementation, community engagement and technical writing skills to collaborations with Foundations. I have also gained experience implementing leadership programming and learning cohorts.
While I have an intersectional lens and work across many issues areas, my deepest knowledge is in health equity, including reproductive and sexual health, young parenthood and maternal health. I have worked in depth across social service areas to address issues ranging from family homelessness to education. I am seasoned at partnering with a wide range of stakeholders from young mothers to nonprofit CEOs, Grantmakers, and policymakers and have worked with partners across Massachusetts and the country.
My work style is collaborative, thoughtful, and thorough. I bring an authentic joy to my partnerships and pride myself on my high standards for integrity and excellence.
I hold a Master in Public Policy and Certificate in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, and a BA in Sociology and Psychology with a minor in Spanish from Skidmore College. I am a mother, lover of yoga and mindfulness practices, and an active community member of Watertown, MA,
"Our Human Rights Commission worked with Liz on a community needs assessment that helped us define our strategy and action plan moving forward. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to work with her. Liz is highly professional and consistently puts community, social justice, and inclusion at the center of her work. We look forward to collaborating with her again."
- Sarah Zoen, Watertown Human Rights Commission

"Liz helped shepherd our small, Boston-based non-profit through a leadership transition. She held weekly supervisions with our staff to ensure that we met our goals and our work moved forward during a tumultuous time. As the Director of Policy, I learned so much from Liz about how to influence policy at the State House. Her deep knowledge of how Beacon Hill works was a great asset to me, and so much of our lobbying strategy at Homes for Families is thanks to her guidance."
-Benjamin Daly, Director of Policy and Membership Engagements Homes for Families

"Liz has been one of the best consultants I have had the pleasure of working with. She has an amazing ability to listen and understand my needs. She is thorough, very easy to work with, very flexible and organized. She has been able to easily identify and synthesize the needs and gaps related to the program I want to build and has been able to help me develop a good blueprint for where I want to take our public education and advocacy program. I have also appreciated Liz's ability to provide tools and resources, in addition to strategies for implementing our goals and vision. I highly recommend Liz and will no doubt seek her services again."
-Etel Haxhiaj, Director of Public Education and Advocacy, Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance

"Liz Peck's enthusiasm for advocacy is inspiring. Her teaching and resources provided during the advocacy training for our Leadership Lab students at Harvard University made the topic of advocacy very practical and accessible."
