For over 20 years I have been commitment to promoting equity and effective systems change. Initially, I focused my work in the field of public policy. Now, it extends into philanthropy.
EP Strategies Vision
Collaboratively and inclusively create a world where equitable practices, policies, and grantmaking help level the playing field for systemically excluded groups.
EP Strategies Core Values
Effective and meaningful systems change only happens when we center people most directly impacted and harmed by programs, policies, and systems. “Experts” are both those with direct lived experience in the issue area as well as technical experts (e.g., providers, administrators, and policy content professionals).
We will all thrive when we achieve inclusion, equity, and justice. My frame grounds in the root causes of society’s problems. I step into my equity frame through an anti-racist lens and take an intersectional approach from there.
Background:
For 15 years, I lobbied on Beacon Hill, served in executive leadership roles at nonprofits, grew advocacy campaigns and engaged grassroots bases. I saw first hand how to authentically engage folks on the ground for powerful action. I also furthered diversity, inclusion and race equity efforts within nonprofits and governmental agencies and learned how to infuse strategies for equity into public policy advocacy trainings, program evaluation, coalition building, and more.
I brought my experience fundraising, managing budgets, implementing projects, and technical writing skills to grants management where I provide grants management services. I also have experience implementing leadership programming, and learning cohorts.
While I have an intersectional lens and work across many issues areas, my deepest knowledge is in health equity, including reproductive and sexual health, young parenthood and it's many intersecting areas of social services, and family homelessness. I am seasoned at partnering with a wide range of stakeholders from young mothers to nonprofit CEOs, Grantmakers, and policymakers. I have worked with partners across Massachusetts and the country.
My work style is collaborative, thoughtful, and thorough. I bring an authentic joy to my partnerships and pride myself on my high standards for integrity and excellence.
I hold a Master in Public Policy and Certificate in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, and a BA in Sociology and Psychology with a minor in Spanish from Skidmore College. I am a mother, avid podcast listener, lover of yoga and mindfulness practices, and active community member of Watertown, MA.
